Welcome baby J | Wichita newborn photographer

Welcome to the world sweet baby J. I am a little behind on sharing since this little love is already over a month old but I just had to share this wonderful family. They hold such a special place in my heart! Not only is his momma a talented photographer and birth photographer, she is also a sweet friend and wonderful momma to these 4 cuties.

I also had the privilege of capturing this little guys welcome into the world. Which means he and his family will always be so dear to me! I wrote this about his sister’s arrive but it still rings true today,

“You see my first birth I was blessed to capture was several years ago. It also happened to be my first home birth. Probably like many of you all of my babies have been born in a hospital. So I wasn’t sure what to expect as I entered their home that early rainy morning. I had never worked with a midwife, seen a home birth or a water birth for that matter. But as the morning went on, labor progressed, mom, dad and the midwife worked together as baby made her way into position. To an onlooker it’s almost like this beautiful labor dance. Everyone working together to encourage and support mom. And then when it seems that mom just can’t go on the unbelievable happens, new life outside of the womb emerges and just like that all is right in the world again. It’s absolutely breathtaking. God gave women such an incredible gift when he choose us to grow, carry and birth these beautiful babies, these gifts from God. ⠀

When I left that day, the one thing that was not counting on was how much witnessing a birth would change me. It changed everything. I wanted to talk about all of it, in fact I wanted to sing it from the hills of Kansas. I couldn’t get enough. But every time I spoke I never felt like I could adequately describe what I had witnessed, it left me speechless and in awe, in a way that I just can’t describe with words. In awe of mom, the midwife, dad, and mostly God. ⠀

I am forever grateful for each and every birth I get to capture. Grateful that these families allow me in to be apart of their story. To capture a beauty that is so amazing that words just never seem to be enough.” ⠀
